How many Nutcrackers are playing in Savannah?

Moscow Ballet

Three, but who's counting?

The Moscow Ballet dances the "The Nutcracker" for one show only Dec. 7, 3 p.m., at Johnny Mercer Theater.

The Moscow Ballet version of this timeless production is unique because of its setting in the Land of Peace and Harmony. The theme of peace is highlighted throughout with the addition of a new character - an ethereal dove that appears in the heroine's dreamscape.

This production will be set against colorful drops, created using a collage technique, that were inspired by European naive artists. Larger-than-life puppets - each is larger than 12 feet in height or length - bring eye-popping, three-dimensional interest to many of the scenic elements.

Call (912) 651-6556 for tickets which are $28.50-$43.50.
