Crawfish Festival
On April 23 and 24, Woodbine will host the official Crawfish Festival of Georgia! Youth Theatre presents:"On the Very Same Day"
April 23, 1516, was a tragic day for world literature. Both William Shakespeare and Miguel Cervantes died on this date. This show highlights the two authors' lasting contributions to literature and art. The play will be performed at the Black Box Theatre, 9 W. Henry St. (between Bull and Whitaker Streets).
Show Dates: April 23, 24, May 14, 15 at 7 p.m.; April 25 and May 16 at 3 p.m.

Audition for the "THE JUNGLE BOOK"
Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera, and the fierce Shere Khan prowl the stage in this adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's masterpiece. New audition dates are April 26 or 27 at 6:30 p.m. Ages 6 and up. "Moby Dick"
"Moby Dick" is designed to come to your school. Students take part in this lively audience participation production that allows for complete use of a child's imagination. A study guide is provided including wide-ranging pre-show and post-performance activities. This production is appropriate for grades K-8. Maximum group size is limited to 250 students. The cost is $1.50 per child with a minimum of $150 per performance. We ask that if you have more than 250 students planning to attend, please arrange for additional shows as needed, to ensure the quality of the experience for your students. Dates of tour: April 1-May 28.
TOBACCO PREVENTION TOURING SHOW
The City of Savannah is seeking schools and local organizations interested in hosting "Because the Surgeon General Said So!" - a unique educational program written by local actor and playwright Chris Soucy and directed by JinHi Rand, to be presented on Thursdays through May 13, cosponsored by the Chatham/Effingham Tobacco Use Prevention Coalition. Middle and high school students will present a short, live theatre performance on the prevention of initiation of tobacco use and promoting the quitting of tobacco use among youth. SAND ARTS FESTIVAL
On the north beach near the lighthouse on Tybee Island on May 7, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. SCAD will host a Sand Art Festival. The festival features competitions in sand castle design, sand sculpture, sand relief and kite sculpture, and contestants may work individually or in teams. The competitions are judged by faculty from the foundation studies department, which teaches art fundamentals, and from the School of Building Arts, which includes architecture and architectural history. Free.
Spring Swim Lessons
The Islands Branch of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, 66 Johnny Mercer Blvd., offers swimming lessons.. The Islands YMCA offers a heated pool with a bubble over it so that classes can be held in cold weather months. Classes are offered for all ages, 6 months to adult.
Two-week classes meet Monday through Thursday. Registration: May 3-14. Classes: May 17-27.
Cost: $35 for members, $50 for non-members. Infant classes require an adult during the lesson. Call the aquatics/wellness director at (912) 897-1192.
Oatland Island 30th Anniversary Party
Come help celebrate Oatland Island's 30th Anniversary on April 24. The Coastal Master Gardeners Association will be giving mini-lectures on a variety of gardening topics. Plant vendors will have plants for sale for those who can't wait to dig in!
Doris Mager, "The Eagle Lady," will give her farewell performance with her feathered friends. This will be your last chance to catch Mager and her birds of prey in action. She and her birds will give an interactive performance, and you will get a chance to get up-close and personal!

Islands MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers ) will have 2 more meetings (April 21, & May 5) before the summer break. Meeting times are 9-11:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of the Islands, 6613 Johnny Mercer Blvd, Wilmington Island. Childcare provided for ages 0 to 5years in a preschool-like setting called MOPPETS. Join other moms of young children for fun, food, and friendship. Project Learning Tree
On May 1, the Project Learning Tree workshop will be held at Oatland island Educational Center. Project Learning Tree is an interdisciplinary, environmental and conservation education curriculum that is activities-based and promotes critical thinking and problem solving. The workshop is open to all adults, especially teachers, and youth and church group leaders that are interested in promoting environmental stewardship in our youth. Registration is required. PHOTOGRAPHY adventure
On May 8, The University of Georgia Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Wassaw Island will host "A Photographer's Perspective." Photography enthusiasts are invited to come along for some great photography opportunities as you travel through coastal waters by skiff to explore the sandy beaches, salt marshes, and maritime forests of the Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge. Adults only. Event will be held from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and the cost is $18.

Creative Coil Clay Pottery
Pottery was created and used in Georgia by Native Americans 4,500 years ago from the Piedmont south to the coast. Learn about the many uses of pottery and create your own coil clay pot using Native American designs. Ages 8 to 11 are invited.
